A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 says;
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,

"A time to be born"
Today was a happy day for us as we celebrated Meghan's ___th birthday. I praise God for giving her life, for her parents having her and most of all for God sharing Meghan with me and blessing us with three beautiful children. Meghan is a wonderful mother, wife and friend. I can't say enough about here. Thank you to everyone who called and emailed Meghan today and made this day special for her. And I can't tell you how many times Cooper sang "Happy Birthday to you" to Meghan today.

"A time to die"
Today was also a sad day for us. Many of you who read this blog know my cousin Lydia. If you don't know her personally, but have followed this blog, you at least know that I was able to visit Lydia and her husband Vol while I was in AZ this past October. Last evening I received a phone call from my mom that Vol had a heart attack and had passed away. I was pretty shocked to receive the call, even though I knew it was coming as Vol has been in bad health for awhile. While I was in AZ, Lydia and I talked about the fact that Vol probably would not make it through another year. One thing I really admire about Lydia and Vol's marriage is that from the beginning they have lived their life as if it were their last day together. I admire them for that!
I ask that you keep Lydia and the family in your prayers as this will be a rough time.
I leave you with a song that I just think fits today perfectly!

Blessed Be Your Name

Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
